We started Mariki to build something we both truly believe in: a place for creativity and togetherness, where food brings people closer! Nico left the world of fine dining to make food feel cozy and welcoming for everyone. Jonna studied anthropology and fell in love with the wonderful conversations that spark up around the coffee bar.
The name comes from Nico’s mother's nickname; it really says a lot about what we love to offer. When we joined Food Fest Gothenburg 2025 with an empanada cooking class and film night, we made delicious empanadas using local ingredients. People cooked together, enjoyed some wine, and shared stories. Food is all about memories—ours and our guests'. Achieving that with something as delightfully simple as an empanada is just amazing! We are so excited to be back for Food Fest Gothenburg 2026!
